Natalie Howard has designed many hundreds of
fine homes for individuals since 1958. Her custom service and her stock plans incorporate
functional floor plans and family requirements with emphasis on traffic patterns without
loss of aesthetics. While her portfolio contains many styles of houses, her favorite style
is the "Country Home." Her collection, Country Plans by Natalie,
resembles rural dwellings of yesteryear, found in the southeastern states. She is a
Certified Professional Building Designer and a member of the AIBD, the American Institute
of Building Design.

Her venture into residential design started on
a small scale. Although her degree from Agnes Scott College is in chemistry, she chose to
study architecture while her children were young. The hobby soon became a growing business
which encouraged her husband, Johnny Howard, to leave his job with a major appliance firm
to become her business partner.
In 1966 the Howard family with their three
small children moved from Atlanta to the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. Their country
designed, family-built home is pictured on the front cover of her plan book and
the interior is in our
Country Details section.

Institute of Building Design.
