This arched fireplace holds a crane for fireplace cooking.
The hearth is cobbled out and is raised 28-inches for easy access to the cooking area.
Below is a space for wood or extra fireplace cooking utensils. The side cast iron oven is
electric with the controls in the lower section. This particular fireplace is angled at
the small wood stove and the mantel follows that same angle. The 4x12 mantel with its
45degree trim provides another shelf for displaying those antique-cooking implements. In
the ceiling the 4x8 rough pine beams are notched into the heavier header beam. The
herringbone brick floor meets the pine plank floor at an angle.
